Falls Church, VA, September 30, 2005 - Software Performance
Systems, Inc. (SPS) announced today that seven members of their management
staff recently achieved Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
from the Project Management Institute, Inc. (PMI®). This corporate
certification program targets experienced project managers who desire to
improve their project management knowledge and skills. According to its program
description, the course is a "standards-based approach to project management",
which "covers in-depth the essential elements of managing a successful project,
focusing on the generally accepted practices of project management recognized
by the PMI".
SPS wishes to acknowledge the staff members who received PMP certification:

These certifications are a part of SPS's overall commitment to training and
certification for our staff—the culmination of an increased effort to
provide resources to our employees toward that end. Project management
certification was a major emphasis this year. In addition to providing on-line
training and self-study resources, SPS invested in a 3-day training course at
the Academy of Computer Education (ACE),
located in Greenbelt, MD to help participants prepare for the exam. Those who
participted in the training were experienced project managers who were required
to pre-qualify through PMI as candidates for certification before enrolling in
the course. An additional investment, newly available to employees, is
SkillSoft's e-Learning for organizations. This tool gives managers a
convenient, online outlet to achieve their PMP certification and all employees
the ability to stay up-to-date with a broad range of technical and business
skills.
