SPS Receives Small Business Administration, Washington, DC Office Exporter Of The Year Award

Arlington, VA, March 27, 2001 – Software Performance Systems, Inc. (SPS) released word today that it was selected as the winner of the Exporter of the Year Award by the Washington, DC District Office of the US Small Business Administration.  SPS was recognized as the first (and only) US IT company to provide computer systems services to a major international organization based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Services provided to-date include XML and PKI consultation, text search engine development, and Quality Assurance consultation.  SPS plans to build on this success by offering its full range of intellectual property systems integration services to selected patent offices in the European Union. SPS participated and met with organizations in Germany, Wales, France, Canada and England as part of its effort to build an international presence.

SPS also worked closely with the Arlington Small Business Development Center and the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP). Marshall Ferrin, Director of the Development Center, stated "When we helped SPS develop an International Marketing Plan, they were already pursuing work in Europe.  I'm very happy our team could help SPS succeed.”

Paul Grossman, VEDP Director of International Trade, added "This award demonstrates that the international market isn't just for the big players.  SPS participated in several VEDP events, including the Virginia CeBIT delegation. We were glad to contribute.”
