SPS Selected as Awardee in Maryland
Consulting & Technical Services (CATS) Contract
Falls Church, VA, February 22, 2006 – Software Performance Systems, Inc.
(SPS) announced today that they are a winning contractor on the Maryland Consulting and Technical
Services (CATS) contract under the Maryland Department of Budget and Management (DBM). This five-year
contract extends through December 2010 and will be the State's principal vehicle for securing
IT services.
SPS was awarded participation in all eight functional areas of CATS to which they responded:
- Enterprise Service Provider
- Web and Internet Systems
- Electronic Document Management
- Software Engineering
- Information System Security
- IT Management Consulting Services
- Business Process Consulting Services
- Documentation/Technical Writing
The selection of contractors, with demonstrated experience to meet their needs, gives
the state, associated counties and other Maryland municipalities easy access to
Information Technology (IT) consulting and technical services through specific CATS
contract Task Order (TO) bids.
Sid Chowdhary, Vice President of SPS's State and Local Division affirms that this
contract "gives the state of Maryland a flexible means of obtaining IT resources quickly,
efficiently, and cost effectively by issuing Task Orders specific to their needs.”

long-standing relationship with the State of Maryland and to participate in Maryland's
progress.”
The State of Maryland will formally introduce the CATS contract and its awardees at the
CATS Conference on March 3, 2006 at the University of MD, University College Conference
Center. SPS will be exhibiting at this conference as a Gold Sponsor, which is expected to
host all 65 Maryland executive branch agencies and commissions.
