SPS-Developed NauticalCharts.gov Reaches Milestone When 1,000,000th Chart Ordered

Falls Church, VA, April 6, 2005 – The Software Performance Systems, Inc (SPS) NauticalCharts.gov project with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) reached a significant milestone last week when the 1,000,000th chart was ordered. SPS started the NauticalCharts.gov project in January 2000 for NOAA's Office of Coast Survey; the system went live on August 1st of that year.

The success of the NauticalCharts.gov project directly led to our win last fall of the larger Integrated Chart Production System for the Marine Chart Division, a division within the Office of Coast Survey. Our project team has assumed operations and maintenance responsibilities of the existing system and has completed the requirements phase for selection of a new system.
