VHDA Accepts SPS Proposal to Complete the Technology Standards Definition

Falls Church, VA, December 1, 2004 – The Virginia Development Housing Authority (VHDA) has accepted an SPS proposal to complete the Technology Standards definition and data-collection steps, and host and maintain these standards as a part of the Enterprise Architecture (EA) contract.

When VHDA decided to acquire the Adaptive Enterprise Architecture Manager (EAM) repository and modeling tool, they planned to temporarily stop our EA project to avoid conflict with the EAM implementation.

We met with VHDA to discuss their concerns and followed up with a proposal to take over EAM tasks to sustain EA and the work done to-date developing VHDA Technology Standards.

As a part of the new work, SPS will help VHDA map their Technology Standards to the Adaptive meta-model and import the technology standards into the tool. After successful completion of these steps, SPS will define the standards schema for VHDA's Enterprise Architecture Application and Information Domains (followed by the Security and Operations Domains).

VHDA initially awarded the EA contract in April 2004 to define their EA Standards Program. The award is through the Commonwealth of VA - Advanced IT Resource Services Statewide Contract, where SPS is a partner with Northrop Grumman Information Technology (NGIT). This follow-up work is being done under the original contract. The kick-off was December 9, 2004.
